East Carolina University for two years before transferring to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where I obtained a Bachelor of Arts degreein political science in 1989. I then attended the Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law at Campbell University where I obtained my Juris Doctor degree in 1992.

I was licensed to practice law in the state of North Carolina in 1993. In April of 1993 I opened a law practice in Clayton, North Carolina. I have continued to practice law in Johnston county and throughout the Triangle area for the past eight years.
